The Indera filter comprises a lid, a container with a base and a plunger or an inverted umbrella, which has to be placed within the container.
The Indera Filter is simple to use with coffee powder being placed in the filter container. Once the coffee powder is placed in the filter container, the plunger is placed on top of the coffee powder, to prevent the bed of coffee powder from being disturbed when fresh boiling water is added for brewing (similar to our Indian filter). The powder is gently tamped to level the bed of powder and fresh boiling water is added to the container. The lid is placed on the container to preserve the heat within the container. The hot water drips by gravity through the coffee powder directly into your cup.
If you would like to drink with milk and sugar, place the hot milk and sugar in your cup and brew the coffee with the Indera filter placed directly on your cup. You could also add hot milk and sugar after your cup is brewed. Cold coffee can also be prepared by placing the Indera filter on top of a mug containing ice cubes and brewing the coffee directly into the mug. In case, you would like to drink cold coffee with milk and sugar or condensed milk, you can add the milk and sugar or condensed milk into the mug either before brewing the coffee or after brewing the coffee into the mug containing the ice cubes.
